An affordable ube powder alternative

I’d give the Sephora Loose Powder in Lilac 4 stars. The powder itself is finely milled and lightweight, and the lilac shade does a beautiful job of subtly brightening the complexion without looking purple on the skin. It gives a soft-focus finish that helps makeup look smoother and more refreshed, especially under the eyes and through the center of the face. I also really appreciate the sifter design — it dispenses just the right amount of product, so the powder doesn’t go everywhere or feel messy to use. It wears well throughout the day and doesn’t feel heavy or cakey. The only reason I’m not giving it a full five stars is that on drier skin types, it can sometimes look a bit patchy if the skin isn’t prepped well enough. With proper hydration it looks great, but it’s something to be mindful of. Overall, it’s a solid brightening powder that performs well and is easy to work with.

My favorite powder for controlling shine

This is the powder I'm using to set my dark circles and control shine, especially since I have combination skin with an oily tendency. I always need to set my makeup well, and this powder has helped me tremendously with that. It keeps my skin looking beautiful all day long, whether I'm working, studying, or going to a meeting, without it looking shiny or greasy. The result looks clean and natural, just the way I like it. Plus, I love the packaging because it comes with its own little sponge, which makes it super practical to carry in my purse and easily touch up if I'm going out at night or have an event.

Pretty Purpley

LOVE!! This was my first time using the Sephora setting powder AND my first time using a purple powder and I LOVED it!! It brightened my under eyes and definitely smoothed and blurred. I’m in my late 30s and I’ve got quite a bit to blur and smooth. The packaging though, THE PACKAGING!!!! 10/10 I’m obsessed. The puff you get with it is the perfect size and SO soft. The flip lid is the perfect spot to hold your puff and does its job holding the powder in. Genius! Be sure to use a light hand with the powder and not use too much or it could look cakey. I like to dab it on the back of my hand a few times before applying to my face to make sure I have a good amount. The purple puff with the purple product makes it difficult to see how much product you picked up.

It helps but it makes me look purple!!!

My skin tone is looking yellow due to being anemic. I was thinking of using a purple lotion to neutralize my skin. So I was very excited when I found out about this purple powder. This powder is supposed to color correct, brighten, and mattify the skin. It does all of these things but there is not a big difference on the color of my skin. And it leaves my skin looking a little purple when there is not a lot of light. Another thing I dislike is that if I don't press it hard, the powder is not gonna come out. In other words, it's not the easiest package to use and it takes me a while to do my whole face. I also think the package helps to not make a mess so it is not so bad. I didn't see a blur effect on my skin but it looks brighter. Maybe I can apply it with some moisturizer because my skin is dry. And I don't like to emphasize my fine lines or pores. I recommend this product to people with ''yellow'' skin or warm undertones. It could definitely help to make the skin look more neutral.

Fine and diffused effect

The powder delivers a nice filtered brightening effect that lasts throughout the day. I suggest using a very light hand for those with dry under-eyes, and if you experience any creasing, a finishing spray on top of this powder works wonders. I love the packaging, which is pretty mess-resistant, and the included velour puff is the perfect size. If you’ve been wanting to see if a lavender setting spray is for you, I think this is a great option as it delivers the color beautifully, and the fine powder is well made and smooth which makes the application process relatively easy.

Blurring and brightening!

I am so shocked by this powder! It is so blurring and refining on my skin- it looks like a filter! How can something this affordable be so pretty! I was a bit nervous by the lavender shade but it was more translucent and brightening than it was purpose which I was grateful for!
